What Makes Us Unique

In person, 1-1 learning. Some programs only offer pre-recorded videos of instructors, while others have set dates and times for students to participate in large, virtual classrooms, where instructors have to move at the pace of the slowest student in the group. We offer personalized 1-1 learning at your pace, a time convenient to you.

Books, not videos. While your student may like watching videos to learn, nothing is better than having a pencil and paper to work through questions – annotating paragraphs, highlighting important phrases, and solving math equations step by step. You learn by doing, not by watching.

Studies have continued to show that learning via book provides a higher retention than learning by reading online or watching videos.

  • A study by The Integrated Learning Initiative showed that the median score of students who learned by reading was 10 percentage points higher (90% vs 80%) than the median score of those who watched a video of the same material.

  • The Learning Library concluded that students who learn by video are easily distracted (usually other open tabs of their web browser), while learning by reading a book enhances focus, concentration, and memory.

  • In an article on BigThink, psychologists show that high school and college students judged reading on paper, as opposed to online reading, better for concentration and remembering. People generally associate reading on a screen with a mindset of casual social media and therefore give less mental effort than when reading printed pages.

More than 1,300 practice questions and solutions, including personal 1-1 explanations for any answers that are initially unclear.

A weekly schedule of assignments, including reading, practice problems, and homework from our 1-1 sessions.

We offer three flexible learning programs (6-week, 7-week, and 8-week) and schedule our individual 1-1 tutoring sessions around your family’s busy schedule. Each program requires a commitment between 6-8 hours, including reading assignments and competing 150-200 practice questions, per week.

Competitors charge 2-3 times our rates, offering mostly pre-recorded videos (the least effective learning method) and online texts (less effective than books), or an impersonal large virtual group learning environment at a set day and time.

We provide 1-1 learning options where we can customize our sessions, and pace, to fit the needs of the each student.
